Don't know if you're still waiting for a reply almost 2 years later but:
I remember Tuttles on Sunrise Hwy from around 1970. Couldn't say for sure what town it was in. Lindenhurst is possible, though I didn't pay all that much attention at the time. My friends and I were just cruising east from Valley Stream one night to kill some time when we came across this great hamburger joint. If memory serves me, we tried their famous(?) burger called "The Coward", made extra special by a layer of coleslaw. I left Long Island a few years later and on occasional return visits many, many years later looked for this old landmark without success.
Any info is good info!

Anyone try the Lindenhurst group on Facebook?
I guess opening the forums to be indexed was a good idea, lol...
Tuttles was on Sunrise Highway and N. Greene Avenue in Lindenhurst. They had the best chocolate shakes around. Wednesday was family day. I believe burgers were 15 cents on Wednesday.
Used to head there from High School. Don't remember when they closed. I do remember the owner was found dead behind the club across the street.
Thanks for the reply's. This place must have been arouind before I was born. I am originally from Nassau county so many of the long gone places in Suffolk I do not know much about.
