Even in this heat and humidity, Mike and I have been getting out to do some early morning metal detecting on the weekends. 2 saturdays ago we ended up at an old school and I got the 3 silver dimes. This past saturday we went back to the school and I got a nice low tone. Gold comes in as a low tone but I dont dig may low tones because most of the times its foil. This one sounded too good and it was shallow, only 2" deep, so I dug it. Scooped out the dirt and I could see Melissa in the hole. We left after an hour and went to a soccer field. One of my first signals was another low tone, same number as the melissa ring at 6". I dug the flap and could see gold! Detecting almost 8 years and this I think was the first 2 gold day. The ring is 14K and the medal is 18K. 4/10 oz total weight of both pieces. 6.9 penny weight. I took it to 2 gold buying places. The first place offered me $240.00 and the 2nd place offered $210.00. I'll keep it for now and try to add some more in the coming weeks. I think I'll dig those low tones more often.
