    Just a quick update....

I see the foxes all the time. The kits (pups) are pretty much full grown and quite curious. Like this morning, i heard one bark from the wooded area i know they hang around in. Eventually, a youngin' came out onto the dirt road about 150' away. The fog was thick but i could still see it. I got down on one knee and was petting puppy-girl. This was intriguing to the fox who basically came about 40-50' closer. By this time p-g could see the fox and started whining and barking which scared off the fox back into the woods.

I also saw the mommy fox last night and did the same thing with p-g. The mommy was laying between 2 schrubs at the edge of a section. It was only about 100' away.

I saw 3 kits and the mommy fox on this evenings walk. Although i may have seen the same kit twice, just in different places and pretty close to my home. They seem to be hanging around the train tracks alot and the pond nearby.

I was on a long hike this evening....for some reason i went down a dirt road i haven't walked since last fall. I've been sad that i haven't seen any signs of the foxes in a week. Then again it's their nature to move around to different areas semi-often. Anyway, i was coming over a rise
in a hill and sitting there side by side on a wide open brown dirt field were 2 of the kits (pups). I caught them off guard and they scrambled...no time to even grab my p&s and shoot a pic. I scoped the area out and found two freshly dug holes and later saw one of the kits watching me from between 2 arborvitae.

A couple months have passed, so i'll give an update.

I seldomly see these foxes anymore. It used to be once or twice a day, now i'm lucky if i see them a few times a week. It could be that there is heavier foliage and more places to hide. A couple i've seen look under-nourished, yet i've also seen an abundance of bunnies in the same general area. Maybe the foxes have a contract with the bunnies? I have seen foxes in the same area where they grew up recently, so they have come full circle i guess.

Another couple months have passed again and I seldomly see foxes even on a weekly basis.

I did see one yesterday morning pretty far up the dirt road. I eventually saw me and PG, made a U-turn and ran into the rows of bushes.

It was curious enough to run in about 200' , sit and wait for us to come along. I tried to take a pic, but my camera said Card Error, so by the time I got that fixed
the fox was taking off in the opposite direction. LOL! Oh well.
