favorite Long Island Hang outs and crusing spots

I am sure all of us at one time or another hung out on DPA, Hempstead Turnpike,Francis Lewis Blvd, Cross bay blvd, Woodhaven Blvd, hung out at the mall, pool hall or roller rink. Let's share our stories of our younger days when we used to hang out.
When I was 18 I used to cruise Hempstead turnpike and Francis lewis blvd trying to P/U guys (LOL)
we would hang out behind tri county flea market and just walk the parking lot scoping the scene. Mcdonalds parking lot in Franklin Sq was a popular hang out as well as Hot Skates in Lynbrook. When I met my husband 11 years ago we used to Cruise DPA on his motorcycle and then hang out in the 7-11 parking lot with all the other motorcycle riders. it was fun.

During the week, i hung out mostly at the tss mall in melville. It had a liquor store, pizzeria, bk and a bunch of little shops that had hot h.s. Girls working there. Many of which i dated. Most were half hollow hills like me. Once in a blue i dated a whitman girl. We'd either hang out in huntington or on deer park avenue near where bay shore road comes in. Muscle car hang out in rickel's (or channel's) parking lot. We'd cruise just north of the lirr bridge all the way south of sunrise and montauk hwy.

In the summertime it was different out east here. We'd get pre-drunk at a house party and then go cruise the hamptons. Montauk hwy anyplace west of the shinnecock canal. There's used to be so many bars and clubs. Casey's in w.hampton is still around. Rod & reel in hampton bays was one of our regular places to hang. Boardy barn, suspenders, the mad hatter and o.b.i. (then) and c.p.i. Later.

IN MY MID-LATE 30'S WE'D GO TO LONG BEACH ROAD IN OCEANSIDE ON CAR NIGHT AND M/C NIGHT AT NATHAN'S.

11 years ago DPA was already dead and full of posers... In the mid to late 80's we used to trailer full blown race cars up there, I blew an engine between Sunrise and Montauk... Once the IROC/GTA/Mustang GT craze started the Guido's f'ed everything up in their pink wife beaters listening to Stacey Q!!!! Hahahaha...

My group of friends used to meet up in the Waldbaums shopping center on 111 in Smithtown. We'd either hang out there for the night and play frisbee and drink or go find a good mud pit to go 4 wheeling... Before the SUV craze you could be out all hours of the night on the outer beach at Smiths Point. We'd gather a few kegs, lobsters, steaks, corn and go spend the weekend on the beach drinking and eating... You weren't supposed to bring beer so we'd mount the kegs under the trucks, they eventually caught wind of that move, lol...

Apparently the skaters (which was most of my grade) hung out and skated (but eventually chased away by police) in front of the Willow wood's Friendly's in Wantagh. They would just go to the Dunkin Donuts in the same shopping center after. I really didn't "hang out" much when I was younger.

I started to hang out at age 18 before that I pretty much stayed home or went over a friends house or to the movies, half the time my mom had no idea where I hung out once I started driving. I used to go to metro 700 alot and the local bar by my house. When my uncle was alive he was a bartender and we would go to Fulton Street Pub where he worked, I never had to pay for my drinks

I practically lived on Francis Lewis Blvd from the day I got my license til the day I got married, and even a little after that. Lots of good times, lots of bad stuff too.

The big thing for us was to cruise out to Hot Rod Burger King (on Hempstead Turnpike) or DPA.
