I still remember the one on Hempstead turnpike in Levittown that's now a Wendy's. So long ago. I used to always get the chicken drumstick or a hamburger and put everything on it at the toppings bar....
Drove by it last night.........all the inside lights on but no one inside. I heard its going to become a White Castle.
White Castle is not nearly as good as it used to be. As for Roy's, Im gonna miss those Dourbe R bar burgers. Def a fave of mine. Arent they owned by Hardees?

Geez, i was just by there the other day (pathmark) in shirley. Def gonna miss the bacon cheeseburger.
To be honest that place was skeevy. Only ate from there if i was desperate for a fix lol!
White castle is not a bad thing. It will probably be the closest one to me out here in bumblephuque lol!

White Castle is horrible, the absolute worst fast food chain in the history of fast food chains. Even McDonald's is better, Wendy's is better then McDonald's, and Checker's/Rally's is the best overall. I have yet to go to a Five Guys so I can't comment on them.
Chipotle is rapidly becoming my overall favorite fast food. I highly suggest it. The Long Island locations that I know of are: the Arches in Deer Park, on 110 by the Walt Whitman Mall, 110 by Republic Airport, and on Hempstead Turnpike in Hempstead/Uniondale. I believe there's a few others too. It's a little expensive by my standards but it's better than Taco Bell, Moe's, and even better then Green Cactus.
Last i heard the food at the roys in shirley sucked. But in it's hay day roys was my favorite. I loved the fried chicken. Chris i have to disagree on white castle. It's not the best but it is definatley on the list of places I go to sometimes. I don't like checkers. Wendy's is at the top of my list
You have to look at it this way, if it was the last one on Long Island, how many fresh deliveries did it get each day? Not many I am sure. If there were still a bunch it would make sense cost wise to keep it open, but otherwise not worth it. Just looking at it logically. I miss Roy Rogers, when I worked at Brunswick Square Mall in NJ there was one I used to eat at all the time. There was a woman who used to stock the fixins bar who had tourettes. For a 17 year old kid it was funny to watch. Looking back, it is still funny.

My Grandfather loved Roy Rogers. He alo loved the double R bar burger.
I used to love loading my burger up at the fixins bar. pickles and tomatoes and onions and everything else there. I would get two. One to load up with the fixins and one to eat almost normal.
Roys was great.
