acupuncture... can it help people loose weight?

curly: mhmm ) acupuncture can help with any kind of pain. Whether from trauma or something like fibromyalgia. If the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine is too confusing for you (balancing the body's abnormalities by fixing the flow of 'qi' to help the body's natural healing capabilities). scientific studies have shown that the needles release a natural pain killer called adenosine, which is a natural anti-inflamitory. It also releases endorphins... everyone like endorphins...

Lubby: it's no miracle cure of course. Just like anything, you have to really be willing to make a lifestyle change. It will make the 'fight' easier by stimulating. We refer it more as "weight control" because it still involves exercise, diet, and stress reduction. Just like with pain, acupuncture needles release endorphins which have a calming and relaxing effect that makes it easier to deal with stress, frustration and anxiety that can trigger overeating and bingeing on fattening foods. Also endorphins affect the digestive and hormonal systems so acupuncture can help rebalance the organ systems that are running too too slow—i.e., the metabolism and the will power.

Its from trauma. Tore it years ago and it hasnt been bad until lately. I refuse to see a Doc about it because I know they will want to do surgery and put me in a damn boot. Ive learned to live with it but it flares up from time to time. Endorphins vs needles...... tough choice.

LI naturally? Or Tyra? Or News5 awhile back? The acupuncturist I used to work with was on all three about the stapling. My opinion from my experience with it is that it's just a gimmick. I believe it works no better then coming for treatments once a week and getting the same points in the ear with regular acupuncture needles. Instead of walking out with a staple in your ear that can get infected if you don't take care of it, i give you 'ear seeds' that you press ever-so-often that are easily removed anytime you want. I'm sure he would say different...

curly: which would you prefer? ;-)

Anyway, hope to see everyone at the the street fair! ;o)
