I wish I would have known. I just sold a like new Whites MXT for $450. Thats half the price of a new one... I do have another detector or 2 so when we get together if someone doesn't have 1 yet I can lend them one of mine. 6 years ago at a doctors checkup, my doc told me to get out and do some walking. I didnt think I was in that bad shape! Walking is boring. Walking, detecting and hiking in the woods is fun. I haven't stopped yet.

I have a Whites Prizm 3. For me, it works for now. Not a bad machine, but I need to get the hang of what im hearing / seeing. Lately, I seem to find pennies easy enough its that pulltab/ring signet that makes me nuts. To dig or not to dig....

The prizm 3 is a great machine. I also have a prizm 2 as a backup. Unfortunatly, if you want to dig gold, you have to dig those pulltab signals.

My bug right now is silver. "He wants the precious. Always he is looking for it. And the precious is wanting to go back to him... But we mustn't let him have it."

2 months ago while walking around the neighborhood in flanders, i picked up a 14k gold ring from the street. I had been obviously run over a few x's, but i took it to the consignment shoppe in patchogue and they gave me $70 for it. I guess you could say it was like found money.

So Im thinking after this storm the beaches will be pretty eroded. Might be a good time to metal detect the beaches (whats left of them). Low tide might just turn something up.
