Yes, but aren't the LT-1's in these cars tuned down a bit? Like 40h.p. Compared to the full blown LT-1 tucked under the Corvette skins?

Actually no. The only difference between the 'vette and the Caprice are the heads, vettes have aluminum heads, Caprices have cast iron heads. I think the hp numbers are different because of the intakes.

And you don't need to change the chip. You can flash the computers with a laptop, all you need is the right tune.
