    Long Island Iced Tea History

There are a few stories of the so called history of this drink.

"Long Island Iced Tea isn't from New York at all. It first surfaced in the 1920's in a community called Long Island in Kingsport Tennessee." (JS Moore)

The inventor of it was Old Man Bishop. He passed the recipe on to his son Ransom - who perfected the drink in the 1940's. This is a fact. The Teetotaler info is true - and the Click Bros. took the cocktail mainstream.

Some claim that the drink, like most cocktails, was invented during the Prohibition era, as a way of taking the appearance of a non-alcoholic drink (iced tea). A lemon slice is often added to enhance this resemblance. To some, the drink also shares a similar taste to tea. This has led to its frequent use in fiction as a method to get a teetotaler drunk.

However, evidence suggested that Long Island Iced Tea was first served in the late 1970s by Robert (Rosebud) Butt, a bartender at the Oak Beach Inn, in the Town of Babylon, Long Island, New York.

give me one and I'm great the whole night ^_^. The bartenders had great practice making them at Katie's when Paranormal State had their events there. Since most of the people did not live on the island, the first drink THEY HAD to order was the famous LONG ISLAND ICED TEA.

Try a "grateful dead". Same thing only you replace the coke with chambord..... yeah tastes like fruit punch.

Screaming nazi is a shot of jagermeister and goldslager together. Can be a drink too.

Another version is a mix of equal parts bacardi 151 rum and ice 101 also as a shot or as a cocktail sometimes with grenadine syrup added for flavor.
