On Saturday 2/20 at about 2 PM the company that hosts this site was testing their fire suppression system which was accidentally set off. The release of the fire suppression agent cause the failure of over 300 hard drives, one of which this site was on. Unfortunately they had to rebuild everything from backups which took a substantial amount of time.
Around 2 PM today the site was restored at which time I put the forum into maintenance mode to check for errors and make the appropriate backups. The forum relies on a database to store all the info and although I do make periodic backups, I normally leave them on the server as I would expect a corrupted database but not a full server failure..
I've run the site for errors and come up clean, I have noticed it's slower than normal and that is to be expected for a while. During my backups I was getting overload warnings.
If you haven't been able to log onto the forum, you should have no issues now.
If you find any problems please message me with them, I will be keeping a close eye on the error logs also.
The good thing is that the other admins and myself were discussing moving forward with a total rework of the site. In the next few months we will be relaunching the site on a new server and platform.
