Massapequa **** House

Well, it seems that the owner of "the house" in massapequa doesn't want his house to be featured on any web sites. I for one don't really see how calling it the "Hell" or "Satan" house has any meaning, but I did not make those names. The house has been featured in Newspapers such as Newsday and as far away as The Chicago Tribune. It's pretty much local legend around here....

It is definitely an odd dwelling that I assume started life as your standard split level but now has a more Gothic feel to it. Me personally, I'd love to know the history behind the house and dispel the rumors surrounding it. We started this site because of our love of LI and it's history, this house definitely has a history be it good or bad.

Can a meaningful dialogue be had to discuss this home?

A possible name change to the truth instead of the folklore involving this home?

I just don't understand when people do things like this. You have candles in the windows, strange curtains, a bright red brick house and you bought it because you DON'T want anyone looking at it? lol? It's like the hot girl who wears a mini skirt with two of her butt cheeks peaking out and then gets mad because men are always looking at her.

I'd really like to know more history about the house though. Why it was done up the way it was ect...

Its hard to miss this house. The rest of the neighborhood is "cookie cutter" homes, all very much alike. This one sticks out like a sore thumb. If you dont want to bring attention to yourself why such a unusual home?

The owner of the house is now a member here, this is my invite to him to tell us the history and put a stop to the rumors... I will gladly change the name of the web site page to reflect the house's Gothic look to it, but I want to know why. We do fall under freedom of the press and this site does have the right to feature homes, private or not, that have become local legends. We say nothing about the family and make no claims that haven't been printed before.

i aggree... i'd like to know about the home itself and how it came to look the way it is today. i'd also like to see a picture of the house before it was red. I'd also like to know why at one time were the side walks red? also want to know when the house was changed to what it looks like today.

I would love to write an article about this house explaining its true meaning. It would do a lot to dispell the rumours and myths attached to the house.
