    Hunters Garden

Has anyone here ever heard of Hunters Garden? It is a very old (1833) association that still meets twice a year in the woods out near Eastport and cooks Eel chowder in big old iron kettles over open fire. I hear they get over 100 men in attendance.
I googled it and found some info but it doesnt say who they are or what keeps them going.

Ive read a little about them. Hunters & Fishermen gathered once a year and feast on local game & seafood. Its kind of like a rendevous. A place for the men to tell tales, swap stories, trade and share information. Ive heard a good bit of shine would usually be available as well.

I do know a man who will be going to the chowder. I cant imagine how they keep going for so long on just eel chowder. They dont do anything else through out the year.

I have a friend who attends a similar event each year upstate. All they prepare & eat is wild game. Turkey, Pheasent, Venison, Grouse, etc.
