Which Phipps is this? They were a huge family in Nassau, had property all over the Gold Coast and even some on the South Shore. Ogden Phipps, who passed away a few years ago, was the breeder of the racehorse Ruffian...amongst many other succesful horses.

Isn't that in Old Westbury, though? If the post card says "Westbury, L.I." (my eyes suck way too hard to be able to read that) it might be cuz Old Westbury wasn't incorporated until 1924 so the name probably wasn't used often (or at all) before then!
