So, WLIM - 1580AM was for the longest time a big band radio station. In the last year or so it has become a Spanish broadcast station. Today, I was walking the Ridgebacks by the station and I noticed four people walking around the perimeter of the station grounds. (Got to be at least 4 - 5 acres) I didn’t think anything of it until I got closer. Even the dogs were looking at them strangely. They all seemed to be chanting something in Spanish; the one woman of the group seemed to be flapping her arms like she wanted to fly and the man in front had what looked like a bottle of tequila. He was pouring it on his hands, would chant something very loud and sprinkle it on the ground. It seemed like some sort of strange blessing. But with tequila? (If it wasn’t tequila it was most definatly some sort of liquor.) I swear that woman was trying to take off, that’s how hard she was flapping her arms. Now, I’m not making fun of what I think was some sort of religious ceremony but I honestly have never seen anything quite like it. It was almost comical! Anyone have any idea what I witnessed?
