    "Your version of Marys Grave"

The story of Marys Grave seems to have so many versions.

    What have you heard?

For me, I remember having friends taking me somewhere on the North Shore, probably if I remember correct, the St. James/Stonybrook area.

There we drove down some street and I was told that at times a ghost in a white flowing dress has been seen on the road and it is 'Mary'

All I can remember being told is a very long time ago, Mary and her boyfriend broke down on this road. Her boyfriend told her to stay in the car and hed go get some help. After she waited for a very long time, she fell asleep and woke later to hear a sound on the roof of the car. Eventually she got out to find her boyfriend hanging from a tree above her, his feet dangling and blowing against the roof of the car.

Probably very diff then the versions you all have heard so lets hear it!

That was kind of the story with Iago Road in Marlboro NJ.
Call me a liar, you knew.
You were a fool, but that's cool, it's all right.
Call me the Devil, it's true.

Driving through Head of the Harbor late one night with my girlfriend (wife) and her friend. Out looking for Marys Grave. Driving down some dark, foggy road we see something up ahead. As we get closer it begins to take shape, a flowing white figure floating down towards the road. The girls all scream nearly running me off the road. Closer, Closer still. And what, what you say. Old lady, curlers, slippers in a white robe throwing out the trash! I still needle her about that one!

I heard pretty much the same story as yours Susan.

I also heard Mary's Grave was on Mount Misery Rd, but I think the original spot is Stony Brook area.

It's supposedly in Head of the Harbor... There's a house up there that looks normal during the day, at night there's always a yellow light in one window...

There is a small stone building down the road from the house where she supposedly murdered members of her family......I have pictures of it somewhere.....

Re: "Your version of Marys Grave"

I've just finished a bit of research into the stories about Mary's Grave, and associated legends such as Hatchet Mary and Mary's Hole. I found there's quite a bit of factual and circumstantial evidence about it, including why there are so many locations with Mary stories. It's way too long to post here, but your can find the whole article here, with photos.
