I love walkout bay windows, put a comfy couch in it and I'll sit in it and read for hours...

The bay has to be the sunniest window in the house. Nothing like warm sunlite during a cold winter.

what is the difference between a bay and a bow window then?

Re: BYGONE THEN & NOW DISCUSSIONS.

Bay window has one big segment flat across the front, and two side windows that open. (might vary slightly, I think) and a bow window can be numerous panes of glass that can be four, five, or even six sections that 'bow' out and away from the house. (yea, a bay comes away from the house, too... but that one flat piece makes all the difference)
