This school built in 1808 on land donated by Ebenezer Smith II was to be a schoolhouse for as long as was needed but Ebenezer had one stipulation. The condition of he gift was should the building ever stop being used as a school, the land would revert back to his heir. Due to a quit-claim deed from the Smithtown School district #1, the land and buildings ended up belonging to the Incorporated Village of Nissequoque. It is now used as village hall as well as police headquarters.
