This old school is really the third for this quiet farming hamlet. The first schoolhouse was built in 1814. The second school, now a private residence was built in 1874 and used up until 1928. The two room schoolhouse, built in 1929 was home to the neighborhood kids until 1942 when the school districts were consolidated.
The Manorville Historic Society maintains the two room schoolhouse museum, one room is set up as a 1929 classroom and the other is filled with period artifacts from cranberry bogs and the L.E.Stemmler Co., (manufacturer of bows and arrows) and other local historical items. They hold a thrift sale the first Saturday each month to help finance their restoration efforts.
