Castle Gould was built in the early 1900's for Howard Gould. The house was initially modeled to look like Ireland's Kilkenny Castle (it was what his wife wished for). The house was sold to Daniel Guggenheim in 1917, and in 1971, it was deeded to Nassau County. It is now part of the Sands Point Preserve.
